2018 Kipling Award Finalist: Addison DeVault, Dover Elementary School, Sue Neumann, Teacher

Our Home By:

Where the cheetahs run free, and the whales swim deep. Where the eagles fly above the canyons and below the trees and where the elephants roam.

This is our home.

Where the Redwoods admire everything from the sky, and where the Marianas Trench hides wonders from us. Where the streams, rivers and oceans meet the vast grasslands.

This is our home.

Where the skyscrapers sit above all of Earth’s creations and were trees are cut down by the 1,000’s for the purpose of putting up more buildings.

What has become of our home?

Where feuds turn into fights and then into wars and where one leader turns a whole nation against another. Where anger and distrust turns someone into a deadly loose cannon.

What has become of our home?

Where millions of hungry, thirsty human beings starve each day and walk miles just to get a drop of water while some have water and food at their fingertips.

What will become of our world?
